Dr. Gazelle Jean Crasto began her formal journey in Dentistry during her Master of Science program at the University of Toronto, focusing on drug discovery. Driven by a strong interest in bone regeneration and nanoparticle engineering, she advanced her research training by completing a Doctor of Philosophy degree at University of Toronto’s Faculty of Dentistry, in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Crasto further earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University, graduating with Honors in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. Her decision to specialize in Periodontology stems from her desire to excel as a clinician-scientist. With a natural inclination towards addressing clinical challenges and knowledge gaps, she aims to advance treatment modalities in her field. Dr. Crasto subsequently graduated from Columbia University’s College of Dental Medicine with a Master of Science and a Certificate in Periodontology. Throughout her career, Dr. Crasto has received numerous prestigious national and internal awards for her research and clinical work, including the IADR Hatton Research Award and NESP Tannenbaum Clinical Award. She is currently working with Columbia University Engineering, teaching and in greou and private practice Gazelle enjoys running, cooking and exploring different countries with the different foods they offer.
